What does staying on site look like?
We will have beautiful glamping tents on site. They are fully furnished with comfortable beds, a big battery pack for phone charging, and battery powered lights. They will be available for Friday and Saturday night at a cost of $500 per couple or any two people. Please note that there are community bathrooms but you will not have your own personal bathroom. This also give you an opportunity tu use the outdoor shower.
Where will I sleep off property?
The town of Mendocino has several B&Bs that are super cute. The town itself is only a 10 minute drive from the venue, and we will have a shuttle operating on Saturday as we will not be allowing any driving to and from Heartwood that day. Here are some of the B&Bs
How will I be getting ready?
One of our favorite parts about Heartwood is its beautiful outdoor shower. It's built into a huge redwood tree and has ample hot water (and privacy). There is also another shower in the bathroom building.
The bathroom building has 3 bathrooms with one shower.
On Saturday, the bathroom building and several of the cabins will be shared with everyone for doing makeup and blowdrying.
What will I be eating?
A lot of very good food! You're goin to be staying with us for at least a couple of nights and we are going to make sure that you will not be hungry.
If you have specific dietary requests, please let us know directly and we will do our best to accomodate you!
Where will I park if I stay on site?
Heartwood has enough parking for everyone, but we do recommend carpooling if you're able to.
What if I need some water?
We are trying to make this weekend as low waste as possible. Please bring a reusable water bottle and refill it with some high quality H20 at the water bottle station on the side of the wreck room.
Should I bring heels?
Of course! If that's your style and your fit won't be complete without the heels...do it. Please note that there is a short walk through the forest to the ceremony location and then you will be on grass. The reception will also be on grass and there's a lot of foresty stuff and gravel between the two. We recommend you bring a change of shoes especially if you are staying off site. You can keep items in the wreck room when you arrive on the property.
Do I need a phone power pack?
There is limited cell service on site. If you are trying to stay connected you may want to bring a power pack. There will also be a charging station in the wreck room. The glamping tents will all have a charging station to plug in at night if you are staying on site.
How cold will it be?
Anyone who has spent a summer in San Francisco knows how the temperature can fluctuate. Nearly all events will be outdoors and the average temp in Mendo is 58-54 degrees. Please bring a lot of layers just in case it get's chilly. As the sun goes down and you take a break from dancing it's totally expectable to have a beanie and gloves on. This especially goes for our friends coming from warmer temps. If you are staying off property feel free to drop off a bag in the wreck room when you arrive on site.
Dollar dollar bills ya'll!
We are having an open bar but please bring some singles to tip your bartenders! Don't forget tp bring those water bottles to start your weekend hydrated.
Sunscreen, bug spray, etc.
Heartwood is above the fog line so it will hopefully be sunny during the day. In the evenings and the mornings there may be mosquitoes. We will have sunscreens and bug sprays but if you have sensitive skin or a favorite brand please bring those!
Children
We are thrilled to celebrate our special day with everyone, including your little ones. But if you tell your families/babysitter kids aren't allowed...we won't tell.
Please NO butts!
There is quite a hefty charge for any cigarette butts found on property. Keep an eye on those butts and be extra careful with any flames.
Cell Phone Photos
Hoping to get a great shot during the ceremony? We will make sure you have a chance to take all the photos you want. After that time please let our amazing photographer Gabriel do his thing and put your cell phone away. Please do NOT post any photos of Julia and Travis on the actual wedding day until Julia has had a chance to post some. There will be a QR code to share the awesome photos you take during the event. Please share!
